I have presented a lecture named "Development of Novel Nano-Composites as Radar Absorbing Materials for Stealth Applications in the Aerospace Industry" and received a token of appreciation from the RAeS Panel of judges.
The RAeS - Young Persons' Lecture Competition is an excellent opportunity for young professionals to be recognized for your work and enhance your career. The goal is to encourage oral presentation skills among young people.
It was a pleasure meeting Prof. Arne Christer Fuglesang - European Space Agency - ESA Astronaut, Director of KTH Space Center & Space advisor at Saab on 17th, 18th March 2019 at the Sharjah Center for Astronomy & Space Sciences for the joint collaboration. He was first launched aboard the STS-116 Space Shuttle mission on December 10, 2006, making him the first Swedish citizen in space. He has participated in two Space Shuttle missions and five spacewalks, and is the first person outside of the United States or Russian space programs to participate in more than three spacewalks.
It was a pleasure meeting Prof. Charles Elachi – Former Director of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Vice President of Caltech, USA at the Global Space Congress held in Abu-Dhabi from 19th – 21st, 2019. The Asteroid 1982 SU was renamed 4116 Elachi in recognition of his contribution to planetary exploration.

During his 16-year tenure as JPL's director, 24 missions managed by the laboratory were launched: Genesis, Jason 1 and Mars Odyssey (2001); GRACE (2002); Galaxy Evolution Explorer, Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity, Spitzer Space Telescope (2003); Deep Impact and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (2005); Cloudsat (2006); Dawn and Mars Phoenix lander (2007); Jason 2 (2008); Kepler and Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (2009); Aquarius, Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover, GRAIL and Juno (2011); NuSTAR (2012); Orbiting Carbon Observatory 2 (2014); Soil Moisture Active Passive (2015); and Jason 3 (2016).
The Emirates Space and Innovation Group (ESIG) was established in 2016 with the main goal of consolidating the efforts of the space sector through a series of quarterly workshops. The workshops are attended by space research and development centers, academic bodies, and the space industry where the goals of the UAE space sector are broken down to be achieved by the group stakeholders with guidance from the agency. The workshops are also an opportunity for stakeholders to present their proposals to the agency for space projects and research. Above is a picture that was taken at the sixth ESIG workshop held in the Abu-Dhabi University on Jan 17th, 2019.
The Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences has actively participated in the Global Space Congress held in Abu Dhabi from March 19th through the 21st, 2019. This Congress in its second round was organized by the UAE Space Agency. SCASS showcased its space sciences research through the participation of all of its research assistants. It was an occasion to meet several space companies to seek potential collaboration in CubeSat development and rockets propulsion systems.
Attended & Participated in the TTVS - Spacecraft Techniques and Technology Course conducted by the CNES - French Space Agency, which was organized by UAE Space Agency on April 2019 at the National Space Science and Technology Center, United Arab Emirates University in Al-Ain, UAE.
The TTVS course presents the characteristics and specific design constraints of space technology and describes the techniques and technologies of subsystems onboard equipment. Its educational objective is to allow you to view all the techniques and technologies that contribute to the establishment and operation of space vehicles.
Presented two Research Papers - Titled “Experimental Investigations on Abrasive Waterjet Machining of Hybridized Kevlar With Jute Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Composite Using Taguchi & ANOVA Approach” & “In-Depth Evaluation of Process Variables in Abrasive Waterjet Cutting of Alumina Ceramics” at “The Second International Multi-Conference on Advances in Science and Engineering Technology | ASET’19 - Advanced Materials, Design and Manufacturing Conference” organized and supported by “Higher Colleges of Technology, IEEE UAE Section & STRATA Manufacturing PJSC” on March 26th, 27th 2019 and received a token of appreciation from the conference chair.

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology has actively participated in the 13th Annual Scientific Research Forum held in the University of Sharjah under the theme, "Multidisciplinary Research to maximise Sustainable Impact" on Monday 29 April 2019. It was a pleasure showcasing our research projects to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Federal Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, UAE.
We have highlighted projects such as the UAEMMN, Meteorite Hunting using Deep Learning Algorithms, Building a Decametric Radio Telescope Array, and building a 3U CubeSat with an X-Ray Detector on Board. Through this participation, the Academy contributed with its scientific knowledge and accomplishments to the academic community – a vision His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, set when establishing this Academy in 2015.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), stressed the importance of the scientific centers and institutions in Sharjah that support knowledge and science, aiming to serve as a solid foundation for studies, researches, and scientists. This came during His Highness's speech on Tuesday (28th May 2019) at the launching ceremony of the four modern astronomical projects, at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST). During the launching ceremony, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah underscored the importance of space science technology and astronomy, highlighting the need to study these sciences through a specialised academy, which is the SAASST.

Won 2nd Prize at the Week of Reading (WOR)’18 March 4-8, 5th day – Closing Ceremony & Prize Distribution. I have given a book talk about the topic "Alibaba: The House That Jack Ma Built" - Book by Duncan Clark. This event supports in addition to Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, Dubai.
It was a wonderful experience to participate as a speaker at the two events organized by:- 1) Sharjah Education Council (Government of Sharjah) - my talk was on the topic “Aerospace Materials” and 2) UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) - Future Aviators workshop - my talk was on the topic “Development of SHARJAH-SAT-1: An improved X-ray Detector Onboard a 3U CubeSat”. I believe that a leader does not only discover what people can do better. He teaches, guides and mentor them to do it exceptionally well. When a seed comes into contact with a leader, fruits are produced.
It was wonderful experience participating in the “Emirates Space and Innovation Group (ESIG)” Symposium organized by UAE Space Agency from 17th to 18th September 2019 at the National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). Unity is strength. . . when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved. š
